Inter Milan are weighing up a move for Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez as they begin planning for life after Yann Sommer, according to reports in England and Argentina.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper, a World Cup winner with Argentina, has been a mainstay for both club and country in recent years.

However, he could finally consider a change of scenery.

TyC Sports, via FCInterNews, relay claims from the UK suggesting that “the club interested in Dibu this time is Inter Milan, who are looking for a future replacement for Yann Sommer.”

Martinez had previously been close to joining Manchester United before that deal collapsed, and the situation has reopened speculation about his long-term future.

The Argentine remains an undisputed starter for Villa, who signed him from Arsenal in 2020, but both Unai Emery and the club hierarchy are aware that a major offer could spark negotiations.
