Inter Milan will focus on finding a new club for out-of-favour forward Joaquin Correa over the final week of the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

For much of this summer, it has seemed all but a foregone conclusion that Correa would have Inter.

The Argentine was on loan at Marseille last season. However, he failed to score or assist a goal across the entire campaign for the Ligue 1 club.

There was a purchase obligation in that loan deal which would have become an obligation had Marseille qualified for the Champions League. However they did not do so.

Therefore, Correa has been back at Inter. He’s been a part of the squad for all of preseason.

It’s been a mixed preseason for Correa, with a solid performance in the final friendly against Chelsea following some less convincing displays in other friendlies.

Prior to his loan to Marseille, Correa had never really found form across two seasons in an Inter shirt. He had joined from Lazio in the summer of 2021.

Inter Milan To Focus On Offloading Joaquin Correa Before The Window Ends

There is now just a week to go in the summer window, though. And Correa remains an Inter player.

There are reports of some interest in the 30-year-old.

Genoa have been at the centre of the most prominent recent reports. Correa has also been offered to Roma.

There has in fact been some tentative interest all summer.

River Plate are keen on bringing the 29-year-old back to his home country Argentina.

There has been interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. As there has been from the Saudi Pro League.

Then, two of Correa’s former clubs have sounded out a surprise return in the form of Lazio and Sevilla.

And recent rumours have also linked the out-of-favour Inter forward with Monza and Real Betis.

Then, there are also AEK Athens pushing to sign Correa this summer.

However, despite all of these links, Correa remains an Inter player.

The Nerazzurri’s priority, though, is to finally offload the Argentine once and for all before the window slams shut
