Inter Milan Goalkeeper Expected To Avoid Criminal Liability After Tragic Car Accident

Inter Milan goalkeeper Josep Martinez is continuing his recovery after the tragic road accident of 28 October, an incident that has understandably marked both the player and the club.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spanish keeper is “doing much better” and is gradually returning to normality.
Indeed, after being involved in a collision that led to the death of an 81-year-old man.
Martinez was driving towards Appiano Gentile when the accident occurred.

The Inter player is formally under investigation, as required by Italian procedure in such cases.
However, the Gazzetta reports that recent findings from the magistrates significantly reduce the likelihood of criminal responsibility.
Based on the reconstruction of events, “the footballer may not be convicted of vehicular manslaughter, as he had no possibility of avoiding the impact.”
Indeed with the wheelchair reportedly moving suddenly into the middle of the roadway.
After taking time away from the pitch, Martinez made his return in the Coppa Italia against Venezia.
However, the newspaper stresses that he still needs time before being fully ready again.
Indeed both physically and mentally, so that he can rejoin Cristian Chivu’s rotation on a consistent basis.
Inter, for their part, remain cautious and supportive.
“The club hopes to see him feature again over the course of the season, certainly from January onwards, before deciding whether to sell him in the summer,” the report concludes.
For now, the focus remains on Martinez’s well-being, as Inter wait for both his recovery and the judicial process to reach its natural conclusion.
