Inter Milan have identified Morten Frendrup as a potential midfield reinforcement, with the club searching for a Manu Kone style profile as they plan ahead for January.
The Nerazzurri will make major investments next summer in a new goalkeeper and centre-back, but the midfield has now moved under closer scrutiny as the winter window approaches.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908, Inter “need muscle in midfield.”
Indeed, something they haven’t seen from summer signing Andy Diouf.

The club are therefore targeting a dynamic, ball-winning midfielder similar to Koné, whom Roma locked down last summer.
On Piero Ausilio’s shortlist, the paper reports that “the name is Morten Frendrup,” the Danish midfielder at Genoa.
Frendrup is considered versatile, technical and effective in both phases, the kind of player who could bring greater balance to Cristian Chivu’s midfield.
Although he has not started the season well, partly due to Genoa’s struggles, his profile remains attractive.
Frendrup offers Inter Milan the advantage of being a lower-cost option with plenty of Serie A experience to his name.
