An injury to Yann Bisseck has seen Inter Milan’s injury woes continue.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They do however note the boost from impending returns of Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has not had much room to choose among his defenders in recent weeks.
Both Pavard and Acerbi have been out since November. Both picked up thigh strains that have required significant recovery time.
Meanwhile, Stefan de Vrij and Matteo Darmian also have had fitness issues of their own.
And Alessandro Bastoni has certainly had to grit his teeth to remain a stalwart at the back.
Inzaghi will have felt that he’s finally turned a corner as far as all the defensive injuries.
Neither Pavard nor Acerbi managed to meet the more optimistic projections as far as when they could return.
However, the former should be back in the squad against Venezia this weekend. And Acerbi can return to face Bologna in midweek.
That’s good news for Inzaghi. But it’s been accompanied by another disappointing injury blow.
23-year-old German youth team international Yann Bisseck has been one player who’s not suffered any injury troubles in recent weeks.
The German has been a key part of Inter’s starting eleven in the period.
However, that looks to have finally caught up with Bisseck. Now he will be on the sidelines for at least a couple of weeks.
