La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights growing uncertainty around the future of Davide Frattesi at Inter Milan, as the Italian midfielder continues to struggle for regular playing time under Cristian Chivu.
The Italian has found himself on the fringes of the squad so far this season.
Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolò Barella, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have retained their status as preferred starters, as per Gazzetta.
The emergence of Petar Sucic and Piotr Zielinski has only complicated matters further, leaving Frattesi among the least-used players in Chivu’s midfield rotation.
Indeed, only Andy Diouf has played fewer minutes.
After a promising summer, the momentum has quickly faded.

Minor surgery for a hernia problem, coupled with Sucic’s impressive rise has seen Frattesi slip down the pecking order.
That match, Gazzetta notes, saw him “swept up in the collective frenzy” that frustrated Chivu and effectively cost him his best opportunity to impress so far.
The situation has revived questions about his future. Inter rejected several enquiries in recent windows, including from Atletico Madrid, while also fielding interest from Roma, Napoli and Juventus last January.
No offers came close to meeting the Nerazzurri’s valuation – reportedly €45 million for Roma and up to €70 million for the others.
That stance reflected Inter’s reluctance to sell to a Scudetto rival, particularly one managed by Antonio Conte. Yet as another window approaches, the issue could resurface.
