Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu is looking to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Jose Mourinho.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Romanian tactician has set his sights on winning a domestic double this season.
The Nerazzurri have come one step away from clinching their 21st Serie A title.
Indeed, a 3-0 home win over Cagliari last Friday steered them 12 points clear of second-placed Napoli, with only five games left to play.
Meanwhile, they’re agonizingly close to reaching the Coppa Italia final for the first time since 2023.
After a scoreless first-leg draw at Como, the two sides will face off against each other in a decisive return fixture at San Siro tonight.
With the Scudetto already in the bag, Cristian Chivu will now turn his full attention to the Coppa Italia.
Furthermore, the 45-year-old could become the first Nerazzurri manager since Jose Mourinho win a domestic double.
Indeed, the ‘Special One’ inspired Inter to this impressive feat in 2010 as part of an iconic treble-winning season.
Before Mourinho, only Roberto Mancini had managed to achieve the same milestone with the club, courtesy of an awarded Scudetto in 2006.
