Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi admitted he was ‘happy’ for Marko Arnautovic after last night’s 2-1 home win against Fiorentina.
Speaking to InterTV via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri boss hailed the team’s performance in a revenge-poised fixture at the San Siro.
“Certainly, the attitude, aggression, and determination,” Inzaghi stated. “It was a well-played match and a well-deserved victory.
“We did well, we approached both halves well, which is very important.
“We were always determined and didn’t fall apart even after the 1-1 equalizer.
“And we stayed united and played more as a team compared to Thursday’s game.”
Inter suffered a dismal 3-0 defeat in Florence last midweek but bounced back with a statement showing last night.
Marko Arnautovic scored off the bench to seal an all-important three points.
Indeed, his goal kept the Nerazzurri within touching distance of Napoli.
However, Inter lost Marcus Thuram to an ankle problem midway through the first half.
Thuram could miss the upcoming Derby d’Italia clash against Juventus.
Therefore, Arnautovic could partner up with Lautaro Martinez in attack.

Scoring his first league goal of the season should bolster his confidence as Inzaghi praised him after the game.
“He did really well, and I’m very happy for him,” the Inter boss said. “It’s only right to say a few words.
“He’s a very important player for us, and I’m glad he was able to enjoy this moment because he always works hard.
“He will help us from now until the end of the season.”
Inzaghi also hailed the atmosphere around the squad.
“In these past few days, we tried to block out the noise and focus on working hard, and that was important,” he added.
“The players did it attentively, and as a coach, I wanted a strong response. I’m very happy with it.”
Finally, he addressed the highly-awaited Derby d’Italia fixture.
“Clearly, it will be an important match, one that means a lot to both clubs and their fans.
“We are facing a team of absolute quality, and we will go there to play an important game that will also matter for our place in the standings.”
