Davide Frattesi is finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel after a difficult start to the season for Inter Milan.
The midfielder completed his first full 90 minutes of the campaign in the Coppa Italia win over Venezia, a performance that La Gazzetta dello Sport describes as an important step in rebuilding his fitness.
Frattesi moved well, kept the team ticking, and supplied key passes, including the assist for Andy Diouf on Inter’s opening goal.
Now, Christian Chivu hopes to see him return to his usual standards and become a key weapon once again.

According to Gazzetta, Frattesi is “still having to deal with physical condition that can improve,” a direct consequence of the surgery he underwent in the summer.
The operation was more complex than initially expected: “In the operating room, doctors realised the sports hernia was actually triple, a much more complicated scenario than first thought,” the newspaper reports.
That setback significantly altered his recovery timeline.
Frattesi then pushed himself to come back as quickly as possible, eager to repay the trust Chivu had shown him from day one.
But that urgency created more problems.
“The attempt to repay Chivu’s faith led him to work a bit too fast, which caused a painful swelling that forced him to slow down again,” Gazzetta adds.
That interruption weighed heavily on his athletic condition and delayed his reintegration into the squad.
Now, though, the midfielder appears past the worst of it.
The performance against Venezia offered encouraging signs, and Chivu believes Frattesi can soon return to being an added value in midfield.
Inter will hope this marks the end of a frustrating chapter and the beginning of a full recovery.
