Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has expressed his desire to finish his career with the Nerazzurri, describing last season’s title triumph and second star as one of the most emotional moments of his life and calling Simone Inzaghi a “demon.”
Speaking to Sette, the Corriere della Sera magazine, via FCInter1908, the Armenian reflected on a career spent under some of football’s most famous coaches and alongside elite players.
“Football is my life. It makes me happy – that’s how it was when I started, and that’s how it is today,” Mkhitaryan said.
Asked to describe his former coaches, he labelled Arsène Wenger “elegant”, Jürgen Klopp “crazy in a positive way”, Thomas Tuchel “strategic”, Paulo Fonseca “a football teacher”, José Mourinho “a winner”, Simone Inzaghi “the Demon”, and Cristian Chivu “an intelligent man.”
When asked about the best player he has played with, Mkhitaryan had no doubts:
“Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Training with him, you only learn – he fights for everything, every duel, every match.”
The Armenian picked his goal in the 2017 Europa League final against Ajax as the most important of his career.

Reflecting on winning the second star in the derby against AC Milan, he called it “incredible.”
“We made history. To win the title at San Siro against Milan – it was destiny. The celebrations lasted over eight hours from San Siro to the Duomo.
“It was tiring, but I’d do it again. That emotion will stay forever.”
Turning to the Champions League final defeat to PSG, Mkhitaryan admitted it still hurts.
“I can’t explain it. I never wanted to relive that night. It was the match of our lives, and we lost in a way you never want to lose.
“But that’s football – one wins, one doesn’t. You have to accept it.”
Finally, asked about his future, the 35-year-old revealed his wish to stay at Inter despite an offer from Saudi Arabia.
“I said no – I’m Interista. I’d like to finish my career here, but it doesn’t depend only on me.”
