Inter Milan and Napoli are both keen to sign out-of-favour Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews. They report that Davide Frattesi or Giacomo Raspadori could figure into swap deals.
At the moment, Pellegrini has found himself in an unfamiliar situation at Roma.
The 28-year-old is the Giallorossi’s captain. He has made nearly three hundred appearances in the Italian capital.
However, Pellegrini has fallen down the pecking order.
The Italian international is not a first-choice starter under current Roma coach Claudio Ranieri.
Therefore, it is suddenly looking quite likely that Pellegrini will leave the Stadio Olimpico. Possibly even as early as this month.
There are a couple of big clubs in Italy keen to take advantage of Pellegrini’s situation, reports La Repubblica.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is a big admirer of the 28-year-old, according to the newspaper.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri would very much like to bring Pellegrini in.
However, Napoli coach Antonio Conte is also seeking reinforcements. He’d like to make Pellegrini the next big name signing after wrapping up a deal to sign former Real Madrid and Manchester City defender Danilo from Juventus.
Therefore, the Partenopei are keen to go head-to-head with Inter to sign Pellegrini.
Both clubs could try and work out a player swap deal with Roma. In Inter’s case, Davide Frattesi could figure into a transfer. On the other hand, Napoli could offer forward Giacomo Raspadori.
