Inter remain firmly interested in Manu Kone as they look to strengthen the midfield, but they are not alone: Paris Saint-Germain are also in the race, while Roma have made their position abundantly clear: the Frenchman will not be leaving in January, and his price is now set at well over €50 million.

Koné has been on Inter’s list since the summer.

Cristian Chivu views him as the ideal long-term addition to his midfield.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri explored the possibility of a deal a few months ago.

Roma’s stance, however, is firm.

The Giallorossi secured Koné for €18m, and his value has “almost tripled.”

Indeed, it is a figure that could rise further with the World Cup approaching.

The report notes that major European clubs are watching closely, “especially Paris Saint-Germain, the team he has supported since childhood.”

In Italy, Inter are the side showing the most concrete interest.

Last summer, they had been prepared to offer around €40m plus bonuses, but that proposal fell short of Roma’s demands.

The Friedkin ownership consider Koné one of their untouchable players, and as the report makes clear.

“Manu is not for sale and will stay at Roma at least until the end of the season.”

Everything could change in June, however.

Roma will need to bring in funds before June 30, the exact figure required has not yet been disclosed, and Koné may become one of the potential sacrifices.

“It’s too early to talk about it,” the report concludes, but his situation will be one to monitor once summer approaches.
