Inter Milan are ready to offer their coach Simone Inzaghi a new long-term contract extension to tie him down at the club.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report the Nerazzurri will hand the 48-year-old a new deal until the end of June 2028.
Since his arrival at Inter in 2021, Inter have been going the route of short-term bumper contracts with Inzaghi.
The coach has signed a one-season extension every year. That was also the case this past summer, where the former Lazio coach extended his deal until the end of June 2026.
However, this time, Inter will offer a longer-term deal.
Inter are well aware of the interest in Inzaghi from other clubs.
Reportedly, both of Chelsea and Manchester United have made efforts to bring Inzaghi to the Premier League in the past twelve months.
For that reason, the Nerazzurri are certainly keen to ward off interest in their coach.
This season has only further confirmed for Inter that they want to be in it for the long haul with Inzaghi.
Therefore, the next contract extension offer Inter make to the 48-year-old will not just be for a one-season bumper deal. Rather, they will offer him a new contract until the end of June 2028.
