Francesco Acerbi is coming to an end of hs time at Inter Milan, with the club set to allow the Italy defender’s contract to expire this summer rather than pursue a renewal.
The news has been confirmed by transfer expert Matteo Moretto, via L’Interista, who addressed the situation directly in a video published on YouTube.
“We understand that Acerbi’s possible departure is heating up,” Moretto said.
“His future at Inter is practically at the closing credits, we are looking at his final months in the Nerazzurri shirt.”
Moretto pointed to a telling detail that goes beyond the contract situation.
“His limited use by Chivu denotes a distance between the parties,” he explained, a clear signal that both player and club are already operating with an end-of-season farewell in mind.
L’Interista had already reported this outcome as a certainty since last year, and Moretto’s update confirms the picture that has been developing for some time.
Acerbi arrived at Inter in 2022 and became a key figure under Simone Inzaghi, playing a central role in the second Scudetto season.
His contribution to the club has been significant, but the cycle has now run its course.
He will not be alone in departing.
Moretto added that other defensive players are also very likely to leave Inter this summer, as the club prepares for a significant overhaul of the backline ahead of Chivu’s second season.
