Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni remains one of the top targets on the shortlist of FC Barcelona as they look to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window.

The Catalans are eager to sign a left-footed centre-back and view the Italian international as the ideal profile to elevate the level of their squad.

Inter Milan, for their part, are open to selling their ace defender as a means to generate revenue and reinvest in the squad for next season.

Now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Inter Milan would be willing to sanction the sale of their central defender for a fee in the region of €70 million to €80 million.

This figure represents the valuation set by the Italian giants, who are not currently considering including players in the deal to reduce the overall cost.

The report also revealed that Bastoni’s agent, Tullio Tinti, visited Inter’s offices earlier this week to discuss the player’s situation.

During that meeting, several topics were addressed, including elements related to the defender’s future.

Bastoni, who is contracted with Inter until 2028, has made 35 appearances across all competitions this season, even chipping in with two goals and six assists.

A fee of €70-80 million seems par for the course for a player of Bastoni’s calibre, more so considering that he is still 26 years old and is entering his prime years.

Whether Barcelona are prepared to meet that valuation remains to be seen, considering that the La Liga champions are also planning a major splurge on a new centre-forward.

For now, the situation remains open, with Barcelona continuing to monitor developments closely as they assess their options in the transfer market.
