Two contrasting updates have arrived from the international break for Inter Milan: on one hand, Lautaro Martinez continues his excellent form, while Denzel Dumfries faces a minor setback.

According to Tuttosport, the Inter captain found the net in Argentina’s 2-0 friendly win over Angola, also supplying an assist for Lionel Messi.

The goal further cements his fine scoring run for both club and country.

“El Toro will return to Europe today and report back to Milan tomorrow,” the paper adds.

“Before joining the rest of the squad at Appiano Gentile on Tuesday to begin derby preparations.”

Meanwhile, Dumfries has withdrawn early from the Netherlands camp due to a slight ankle problem.

He will undergo physiotherapy at Inter’s training base alongside Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Matteo Darmian.

“The updates received by Inter’s medical staff are not alarming,” reports Tuttosport.

If Dumfries responds well, he’ll be back in full training by Tuesday.

If not, he’ll rejoin the group later in the week.

His participation in the derby on November 23 is not in doubt.

Positive news all around for Cristian Chivu, who is expected to have both key players available for the showdown with Milan.
