Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has outlined his ambitious World Cup goals for Turkey, pledging to lead by example as captain and push his nation deep into the tournament.

Speaking at the presentation of a new Rexona advertising campaign, where he appeared as a brand ambassador, Calhanoglu made clear his determination to bring pride to Turkish football on the world stage.

“Our goal at the World Cup is to go as far as possible and make our country proud,” he said, with quotes via FCInterNews.

“We want to show the world the strength of Turkish football by giving everything on the pitch, playing with discipline and team spirit.”

The experienced midfielder stressed the importance of leadership and unity within the squad.

“As captain, my goal is to be a role model and motivate both the team and our fans,” he continued.

“We know this is a big stage, but we’re confident and ready to compete. We’ve gained valuable experience from past tournaments: now we’re more motivated than ever to turn that experience into success.”

Calhanoglu, who has been in outstanding form for Inter this season, will be central to Turkey’s ambitions as they look to make a lasting impression at the 2026 World Cup.
