Napoli have beaten Inter Milan to the signing of Giovane, completing a deal with Hellas Verona after a brief transfer tussle between two Scudetto contenders.
The Brazilian forward, previously linked with the Nerazzurri, has now officially joined the Partenopei on a permanent basis.
Napoli confirmed the move on their official website, announcing that Giovane Santana do Nascimento has signed a contract following a €20 million agreement with Verona.
The deal ends any speculation surrounding a possible move to Inter, who had monitored the player in recent weeks as part of their broader market evaluations.

In their statement, Napoli wrote: “SSC Napoli announce that they have acquired, on a permanent basis, the sporting services of Giovane Santana do Nascimento from Hellas Verona.”
The club also highlighted the attacker’s background and recent progress in Serie A.
Born on 24 November 2003, Giovane featured 21 times in the league for Verona this season, contributing three goals and four assists.
Napoli also pointed to his international experience, noting “19 appearances with Brazil’s Under-20 side, scoring twice, and four appearances with the Under-23s.”
The announcement ended with a simple welcome message: “Welcome, Giovane!”
The timing of the transfer suggests Napoli want the forward involved immediately.
Reports indicate he could already be included in the squad for the upcoming league clash away to Juventus in Turin.
