Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi is seeing less playing time under Cristian Chivu than he did during the Simone Inzaghi era.
The Italy star has managed only 72 minutes this season, all from the bench, as noted by FCInterNews.
That is fewer than at the same stage of the last two years under Inzaghi, despite entering the campaign with high expectations.
The 24-year-old’s start has been disrupted by fitness concerns.
First came an operation for a hernia, then stomach problems that delayed his return to peak form.
Chivu had initially earmarked him for a key role in a 3-4-2-1 system.
However, when Inter switched back to the 3-5-2, space in midfield became harder to find.

Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan remain untouchable starters.
Petar Sucic has broken into the lineup, while Piotr Zielinski is also in contention.
That leaves Frattesi hoping for an opening, perhaps against Cremonese if Chivu decides to rest Hakan Calhanoglu.
Otherwise, the Italy star could again be left waiting for his chance.
