Petar Sucic is reportedly the frontrunner to replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan in Wednesday’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Fiorentina.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 21-year-old has overtaken Piotr Zielinski in the pecking order.
Inter will take on Fiorentina without Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who picked up a thigh injury against Napoli last weekend.
Indeed, the 36-year-old is facing a month-long spell on the sidelines, leaving Cristian Chivu with a decision to make.
Despite his age, Mkhitaryan remains a valuable midfield asset for the Nerazzurri.

Zielinski took the Armenian veteran’s place at the Maradona Stadium. Yet, his impact was negligible.
Therefore, Chivu will likely turn to Sucic to fill his star midfielder’s shoes tomorrow.
After a promising start to life at San Siro, the Croatian starlet has fallen out of favor.
His last start in Serie A dates back to September’s 2-1 home victory over Sassuolo.
However, he will have a chance to prove his worth to Chivu tomorrow night.
