Inter Milan come up against Genoa at the San Siro on Saturday night in their final Serie A fixture of February.
After a disappointing midweek result against Bodo/Glimt that knocked them out of the UEFA Champions League, they will look to bounce back and extend their already comfortable lead of 10 points at the top of the group table in the Serie A.
Lautaro Martinez is sidelined by a calf injury until next month. Cristian Chivu will therefore pick two forwards out of Francesco Pio Esposito, Marcus Thuram and Ange-Yoan Bonny to spearhead Inter’s attack.
At the back, Alessandro Bastoni is suspended. Carlos Augusto is expected to slot into the back three in his place.
There is better news for Inter, as Denzel Dumfries has now returned after a lengthy spell out, and key midfielders Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu are both available again following Serie A suspensions last weekend.
On the left, set-piece specialist Federico Dimarco, who has produced five goals and 14 assists in the league, will be aiming to maintain his impressive run of form.
Benjamin Siegrist, Sebastian Otoa, and Brooke Norton-Cuffy, are all doubtful for this encounter and are most likely to sit out.
Other than that, Daniele De Rossi’s side has no other injury or suspension issues. Lorenzo Colombo is set to be the main attacking threat that Genoa possesses, with six goals already scored in the league.
Inter Milan come into this match after losing the second leg of the Champions League playoffs against Bodo/Glimt, eliminating them from the competition. But their Serie A form has been impressive, winning their last seven games on the run. They have also kept six clean sheets in their last six away matches in the league and have kept the most clean sheets this season in Serie A with 14.
Genoa currently sit at 14th position in the league table with 27 points from 26 matches in the league. They won comfortably against Torino (3-0) last week, ensuring they kept a second consecutive clean sheet in the league. Il Grifone have tightened up at the back after conceding eight goals in their previous three matches.
Inter Milan: Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Augusto; Henrique, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Dimarco; Bonny, Esposito
Genoa: Bijlow; Marcandalli, Ostigard, Vasquez; Sabelli, Frendrup, Malinovskyi, Martin; Baldanzi, Vitinha; Colombo
