Cristian Chivu has some tricky selection calls to make as Inter Milan prepare to face Genoa, with Tuesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final against Como and next week’s derby both looming large on the horizon.

According to Sky Sport’s Matteo Barzaghi, via L’Interista, reporting directly from Appiano Gentile, the attacking lineup remains undecided.

Without Lautaro Martinez, Chivu is wary of dropping Thuram too, knowing that his experience and physicality remain valuable even if his form has been inconsistent.

Frattesi is one to watch in midfield, with Barzaghi flagging his potential involvement as a notable subplot. In defence, the suspended Bastoni is absent as expected. Carlos Augusto comes in on the left, while Francesco Acerbi returns to the centre of the back three.

Chivu must balance the need for three points against Genoa with the importance of keeping key players fresh for the Coppa Italia tie and the San Siro derby, a challenging juggling act at a pivotal point in the season.
