Roma head into Sunday’s Easter showdown with Inter Milan carrying four significant injury absentees, with Artem Dovbyk, Paulo Dybala, Wesley and Manu Koné all working through individual recovery programmes ahead of the San Siro showdown.
According to vocegiallorossa.it, via L’Interista, all four players continued to train apart from the main group on Friday as Gian Piero Gasperini stepped up his preparation for one of the most important fixtures of the season.
The absences are substantial.
Dybala’s creativity and Dovbyk’s physicality up front represent two of Roma’s most dangerous attacking threats.
Koné’s energy and ball-winning ability in midfield would have been crucial against an Inter side that builds through the engine room.
Wesley’s pace and directness down the flank have caused problems for several Serie A defences this season.
Despite the injury concerns, the rest of Gasperini’s squad trained normally.
Therefore giving the coach a largely fit group from which to build his starting lineup.
Roma depart for Milan on Saturday afternoon following their final training session at 14:30.
The task is enormous, visiting a title-chasing Inter side at San Siro on Easter Sunday without four key players.
However, Gasperini has shown throughout his career that he thrives in exactly these circumstances.
