Inter Milan are considering a contract renewal for Hakan Calhanoglu despite ongoing links with Galatasaray and Juventus, as the midfielder reasserts his importance at the heart of Cristian Chivu’s project.
Reports from Turkey continue to suggest that Galatasaray could return for Calhanoglu as early as January.
However, Corriere dello Sport downplay that scenario, describing a winter move as “unlikely” at present.
The newspaper adds that any potential transfer to Istanbul appears remote, especially if Galatasaray were to revisit the financial terms proposed last summer.

Back in Milan, the picture has shifted.
Calhanoglu has moved “forcefully back to the centre of Inter’s project” after months of speculation and uncertainty.
His performances and leadership have restored confidence inside the club, to the point that Inter are now reflecting on a possible contract extension.
The Turkish international’s current deal runs until 2027, but the Nerazzurri are weighing whether to secure his future earlier.
According to Corriere dello Sport, relations between the parties have improved significantly. “Calm has returned,” the report notes, adding that initial contacts over a renewal have already taken place.
Inter see value in maintaining continuity in midfield, particularly with Calhanoglu acting as a key reference point in Chivu’s system.
That said, a decision still looms. The newspaper underlines that the end of the season could represent a crossroads. Without a new agreement, the possibility of a separation would gain momentum, allowing Inter to avoid the risk of losing the player on a free transfer.
For now, Inter Milan remain focused on the present, but Calhanoglu’s future, amid interest from Juventus and Galatasaray, is firmly back on the agenda.
