Barcelona have recently emerged as a potential destination for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, but Inter Milan are reportedly still in the fray.

The 26-year-old’s future remains a mystery just over a week from the summer transfer market’s deadline day.

Juventus have bluntly told the Italian to find himself a new club as he’s no longer needed in Turin. The club’s new head coach Thiago Motta is planning to rely on other players.

But despite his status as a bona fide star in Italian football, Chiesa doesn’t have many plausible options on the table.

However, Barcelona have recently surfaced as a serious suitor.

According to Il Corriere della Sera via FcInter1908, the Blaugrana currently represent Chiesa’s most concrete destination.

The Catalans are still struggling to adhere to La Liga’s Financial Fair Play rules, but they can make room for the Juventus exile by selling some of the deadwood.

Many believe a transfer fee of 15 million euros would be enough to convince the Bianconeri. After all, Juventus are desperate to sell the winger given his contract will expire next year.

Nevertheless, the newspaper claims that Inter are still in the hunt.

Inter Milan Still Gunning To Sign Federico Chiesa Despite Barcelona Competition

As the source explains, the Italian champions are working in the shadows to secure the deal.

Inter president Beppe Marotta would love to sign Chiesa on a free transfer next year. However, the player won’t fancy sitting for an entire campaign on the sidelines, so he’ll be seeking an immediate transfer.

So we shall see if the Nerazzurri would be able to find an agreement with their arch-rivals Juventus over a transfer fee.

On the contrary, the same source insists Inter have no intention to sign Adrien Rabiot.

The Frenchman became a free agent earlier this summer after seeing out his Juventus contract.
