The top three sides in Serie AInter, Napoli and Atalanta – could all theoretically end level on points by the end of Sunday’s round of league fixtures following the 0-0 draw between Venezia and the Partenopei in the early kick-off slot. Here is what needs to happen.

Inter, Napoli and Atalanta can all finish Sunday level on points

All three of the division’s highest ranked sides are in action on Sunday. Napoli have been held to a 0-0 draw away against Venezia, which means that they have missed out on an opportunity to claim the lead of the Serie A table ahead of the game between Inter and Atalanta later in the night.

Antonio Conte’s side are currently in second, level on points with leaders Inter on 61. Atalanta are in third on 58.

That means that if Atalanta claim a victory at home against the Nerazzurri, the Serie A table will be a three-way tie by points.

If Inter win, they will claim a three-point gap at the top of the table, and will be six clear of Atalanta heading into the March international break.

A draw between the Nerazzurri and La Dea will still keep things tight, as Inter will be top on 62 points, Napoli in second on 61 and Atalanta in third on 59, keeping the difference in points exactly the same as it was heading into the weekend.
