Inter have rekindled their interest in Brooke Norton-Cuffy, as their chases of Ivan Perisic and Moussa Diaby has hit significant snags. They are more optimistic about the former, who asked PSV to be let go, but the deal hasn’t advanced significantly, Corriere dello Sport informs.
The Nerazzurri are willing to pay a small fee to bring back the Croatian talisman. The counterparty is holding firm since he’s under contract until 2027 and has been effective this campaign, tallying 5 goals and 10 assists in 28 fixtures across all competitions.
Inter have shortlisted Perisic and Diaby because they would like to add a pure winger, but they might have to settle with Norton-Cuffy, who’s more defensive-minded. The Frenchman is keen on heading back to Europe. An intermediary suggested that Al-Ittihad would accept a loan with an option to buy, but it hasn’t been the case so far. They are also dealing with the Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté sagas.
According to Fabrizio Romano (via SOSFanta), the Nerazzurri made a serious inquiry with Genoa for a permanent deal. In the meantime, Denzel Dumfries is in the final stages of his rehab protocol and could return for the second leg of the UCL playoff, Sky reports.
The youngster is a low-hanging fruit for a few sides, including Juventus, as the Liguri can probably be persuaded with the right formula and bid. Dealing with Saudi Arabia sides has been a chore for every Serie A team so far. If Dumfries is indeed close, adding the veteran would be enough to spruce things up a little. Instead, they’d have to go for two if they wished to cut bait on Luis Henrique.
