In a curious twist of fate, Inter are recalling Franco Carboni from his loan deal with River Plate and instead sending him to Serie A side Venezia.
The 21-year-old was loaned out to the Argentine club for €500,000 until December 2025 and there was an option to buy for €4m, as well as a buy-back clause for Inter set at €12m.
However, just over a month since that transfer was completed, it seems there is a problem between Carboni and the River Plate staff that cannot be resolved.
The change of coach from Martin Demichelis to Marcelo Gallardo completely changed their approach.
As a result, they are cutting the loan experience short and returning him to Inter immediately.
Carboni still needs regular playing time, so will instead be loaned to Venezia for some Serie A experience.
There had been reports he could be re-routed to Mexico for Monterrey, but TyC Sports and Sky Sport Italia insist a deal is done with Venezia.
His brother Valentin Carboni was also loaned to Monza and is now playing for Olympique Marseille.
