Inter are back on the drawing board after missing out on Marco Palestra, who was the one and only target they had been working on to replace Denzel Dumfries. The Nerazzurri will revisit their previous options.
According to TuttoSport, the reigning Serie A champions liked Dan Ndoye when he was at Bologna. Nottingham Forest are after Davide Frattesi. There could be enough there to set up a trade, even though the attacker has a higher valuation. He’s not a pure wing-back, though, and he’d need time to learn the position.
Andrea Cambiaso is gettable, as Juventus are on the prowl for ‘plusvalenze,’ but only for €35/40M. It’s not sure that Inter value him that highly. They could rekindle their interest in Dodo, who’s on his way out because of his short-term contract. Napoli and Roma are eyeing him, but no side has accelerated for him yet.
The Nerazzurri had earmarked Brooke Norton-Cuffy in January when Dumfries seemed close to Liverpool. Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Giuseppe Marotta and co. are very high on Wesley, but he’s a pipe dream, as he’s a building block for Roma.
They are in a pickle because they had put all their eggs in one basket. Perhaps they should have acted more swiftly while Chelsea were tending to other matters. Ndoye is the most talented of the lot, but likely also the priciest, and he’s not the purest fist. Cambiaso could perhaps use a change of scenery, but, while he’s ambidextrous, he has never really played consistently on the right flank. Dodo is fine but has low upside. He’d be better in a twofer if they sold Luis Henrique too, but that’s not very likely at this point.
