Serie A 2023/24 champions Inter plan to waste no time in preparation towards defending their title next season as the Nerazzurri have reignited their interest in Swedish wing-back Emil Holm.
Milanese journal La Gazzetta dello Sport indicates that as it stands, there are no positive signs regarding the future of Denzel Dumfries at Inter beyond this season as the two parties are struggling to reach an agreement regarding a renewal. The Beneamata have proposed a salary of €4m, but the Dutch international swiftly refused the offer.
With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2025, Inter are keen to offload Dumfries in the upcoming summer in order to avoid losing the 28-year-old on a possible free transfer. As it stands, several Premier League clubs are keen on acquiring the services of Dumfries, Manchester United currently being the favourites to acquire him in the even that he does not extend his stay at the San Siro.
Whilst Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode and the Red Devils’ Aaron Wan-Bissaka are currently on Inter’s short-list for wing-backs, the Nerazzurri have also added Atalanta’s Emil Holm into the mix.
Inter are quite familiar with Emil Holm as the Biscione have monitored the 23-year-old last summer as they viewed him as an ideal replacement for Italian international Raoul Bellanova, prior to the Swede’s loan to Atalanta.
With a potential void on the right-hand flank on the way, Inter are open to resuming their pursuit of Emil Holm if required as they are intrigued by his pace and immense strength.
