Inter have no doubts about Francesco Pio Esposito’s future, with the club preparing to reward the young forward with a new long-term contract that reflects his rapid progress and growing importance.

Napoli made a serious attempt to lure Pio Esposito away from Inter late last spring, tabling an offer worth €35 million plus bonuses rising to €40m.

However, the bid was swiftly rejected, as the Nerazzurri made it clear that the teenager was considered completely untouchable.

The upcoming renewal will include an adjustment to Esposito’s current terms, described internally as an automatic step for a player the club believe to be a genuine prodigy.
