As President Beppe Marotta announced in May, Inter have deployed a new strategy for the 2025 summer transfer window, having already invested over €70m without selling any of their stars.
The summer transfer window formally begins on July 1, but Serie A giants Inter have already implemented a new transfer strategy, which Marotta had announced before the latest Champions League Final.
“We have agreed with the new owners, Oaktree, who have first and foremost provided stability and financial security, to create a different model and implement it in the coming season,” Marotta told The Athletic.
Official: Inter announce signing of Luis Henrique from Olympique de Marseille.
“Investments will be made in slightly younger profiles who represent a real asset, players with potential who are an asset for the present and the future.”
Marotta kept his word as the Nerazzurri have already invested €70m in new signings this summer.
Two new faces, Petar Sucic and Luis Henrique, have even made their debut at the Club World Cup, having signed for the Nerazzurri during a special transfer window for clubs participating in the tournament at the start of June.
Sucic joined Inter for €16.5m including add-ons, while the Brazilian moved to San Siro from Marseille for circa €25m.
Inter have also invested approximately €6m to make Nicola Zalewski’s loan move permanent and are preparing to welcome Parma’s Ange-Yoan Bonny for €25m.

This means Inter have already invested €72.5m in new signings without selling any of their stars, at least for now.
Under their previous owners, Suning, the Nerazzurri had taken on a different transfer approach, mainly focusing on experienced players available as free agents.
This allowed the club to save money on transfer fees, but new signings required high salaries. The Serie A giants had long decided to take a new approach, which had been announced even before Simone Inzaghi’s exit and Cristian Chivu’s appointment.
