Despite the hurdles, Inter have every intention of continuing to pursue Nico Paz until there’s a chance to get him. Their vice-president Javier Zanetti was spotted in the stands of the Sinigaglia Stadium as Como took on Venezia over the week.
According to Corriere dello Sport, everybody within the Nerazzurri raves about the prodigy, from Simone Inzaghi to their owners Oaktree. The boss plots to turn him into a creative box-to-box, eventually succeeding Henrikh Mkhitaryan, besides using him as a second-striker initially.
Nico Paz is open to the move, but Como and Real Madrid represent significant obstacles. Los Galacticos could but are leaning toward not bringing him back next summer. They wish for him to continue cutting his teeth and return when he’ll be equipped to handle a big role at the Santiago Bernabeu and the stellar competition.
Les Merengues will be able to buy him back for an affordable fee for the next three years. Como are trying to remove those clauses and plot to offer €20/25M. The Nerazzurri would have to invest more than that to acquire him.
They have a shot if he’s keen, and his price tag isn’t exorbitantly lofty yet. He wouldn’t be a clean fit right away, as he’s basically playing as a false-nine as of late, but there’s a lot to work with there. Still, the main problem is that Real Madrid might not relinquish their hold even if they do sell him, insisting on a future buy-back clause. The risk of having him for just two or three years could deter an investment, even though it’d lower the initial fee.
