INTER v AC MILAN: MATCH PREVIEW

Article image:INTER v AC MILAN: MATCH PREVIEW

The Derby della Madonnina is always a special occasion, and this time it takes place after the International Break on the 12th matchday of Serie A. AC Milan, led by Coach Allegri, is set to face Inter, managed by Coach Chivu. The match will be held on 23 November 2025 at 20:45 at San Siro. Both teams are vying for top positions, making this encounter particularly significant. We approach kick-off with our Match Preview.

LATEST FROM MILANELLO AC Milan come into the derby following a string of good results. In the last Serie A match, the Rossoneri drew 2-2 against Parma, showing a brilliant approach to the game which was then lost during the 90 minutes at the Tardini. Despite a few too many points dropped, Coach Allegri's side are experiencing a period of growth, with just one defeat this season, and they've benefitted from the International Break as they've recovered almost all the players who were out at the start of the season: Rabiot, Pulisic and Jashari will be in the squad, only Gimenez and Athekame are out. The Rossoneri, with Modrić taking part in his first city derby, are determined to extend their unbeaten run and continue climbing the table, but the derby is a whole different match in itself.

Massimiliano Allegri spoke ahead of the match. "The derby kicks off a decisive cycle until March, in the Serie A, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa. Inter are an experienced and solid side, they're favourites for the Scudetto alongside Napoli, but the derby is a different match in itself. I have lots of confidence in the group because a good week is all that's needed and everything can change with six points. You can play and win without a true number nine, for this, I expect lots from Pulisic and Leão".

LATEST FROM INTER Inter come into the derby with a series of convincing performances and top of the table level with Roma. In their last Serie A match, the Nerazzurri beat Lazio 2-0, showing defensive solidity and sharpness in attack. In the Champions League, Inter beat Kairat 2-1, bringing home the three points and consolidating their position in the standings. Chivu's side are in excellent form, with eleven wins in 12 matches in all competitions. The Nerazzurri will look to continue their good form in the match against AC Milan, especially given the return of Marcus Thuram. Mkhitaryan is out for a few weeks due to a muscular injury, while Dumfries worsened his ankle injury during international duty.

Christian Chivu spoke ahead of his first derby as a Coach. "The derby raises everything, but the three points are the most important thing. We need to prepare in the best way for our fans and because all the world is watching. The standings are tight, there are no favourites. We're not going to change the plan, we're ready to read the episodes and moments: our identity, the flexibility in the systems and the qualities of the players will be decisive elements. Allegri is a winner: he knows how to be pragmatic as well as making the most of his group".
