Hakan Calhanoglu won’t be involved in Galatasaray’s ongoing spending spree in Serie A, despite some intense summer chatter, but his future at Inter will depend on the outcome of the upcoming negotiation to renew his contract, while Federico Dimarco is set for a pay bump amid a career year.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri aim to avoid the recurring uncertainty about the Turk. He’s attached to other sides at the end of every campaign. His deal is up in 2027. The parties will have to decide whether to stick together for a couple more years on top of the current expiration date or instead go their merry ways. The brass wishes to settle things during the spring.

Dimarco is in the same contractual situation as Calhanoglu, but he’s never seriously considered switching sides, even though he has never lacked suitors. Per TuttoSport (via Mediaset), the plan is to extend his pact until 2029 or 2030, raising his wages slightly. Arsenal and Manchester United inquired about his availability not too long ago.

The fullback and the midfield maestro are both having excellent campaigns and have been absolute centerpieces in Christian Chivu’s design. The Italian star has put up 4 goals and 7 assists, while the 31-year-old has scored 8 times and dished out 4 helpers. The former currently makes €6.5M, while his teammate €1M less annually.

Our Take on Inter, Dimarco, and Calhanoglu

Their performances and leadership, along with Lautaro Martinez and Alessandro Bastoni’s, have been the driving force of their new course. It’d be surprising if the relationships didn’t continue. Replacing them would be a daunting and expensive task that their management would surely prefer avoiding.
