League One club Reading have been subject to 'serious' takeover offers, even though Rob Couhig only bought the Royals last year.
The League One outfit have moved in a largely positive direction since the takeover fronted by former Wycombe Wanderers owner Rob Couhig was completed last May.
Couhig's acquisition signalled a fresh beginning after the painful years the Royals endured under the controversial reign of Dai Yongge, whose financial wrongdoings were responsible for the points deduction that led to relegation from the Championship in 2023.
Reading are now plotting a second-tier return via the League One play-offs under the stewardship of former Rotherham United and Wigan Athletic boss Leam Richardson.

The Royals narrowly missed out on the top six last season, and would love to go one better this time around in their first term under Couhig's ownership.
Meanwhile, speaking to Greatest Hits Radio Berkshire and North Hampshire News, Catania revealed his club has been subject to takeover offers: "I think it's just a validation that what we're doing is working, and it's getting attention from other parties.
"I think that we've been getting approached to buy anything from a share to the club outright. With that, serious offers are looked at, but we're enjoying the process, and we're not done yet.
"It is a surprise, it being so quickly. It's a great sign that we're heading in the right direction. We're really enjoying this experience. I think so far it's going well, and we're very hopeful for the future.
"I think that's something that we can be very proud of, and it appears that other people are recognising that."

Catania is right to outline that the external interest in Reading is a sign that the Royals are moving in a positive direction under the ownership of Redwood Holdings.
Meanwhile, following the years of pain the Berkshire side endured under Yongge, supporters will be relieved by the positivity surrounding their club nowadays.
Furthermore, given the disastrous ownership tenure overseen by Yongge, who was disqualified by the EFL, Royals fans may be wary of possible takeovers while their side are in safe hands.
Therefore, the Reading faithful will be pleased by Catania's current stance that the incumbent board should remain in place.
Meanwhile, Richardson's hopes of guiding his team to the play-offs took a dent when they were beaten 3-2 by Wimbledon on Saturday, courtesy of Marcus Browne's hat-trick.
February's remaining fixtures allow the Royals to reignite their top-six credentials, though, especially when they face promotion chasers Wycombe Wanderers, Bolton Wanderers and Bradford City.
