With Brazilian clubs back training and taking stock of their squads, Internacional have decided they will not keep Flamengo defender Rodinei beyond his loan agreement.
The 28-year-old linked up with the Colorado in January after he had returned from the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar.
He didn’t feature in the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the final of that tournament, but he did appear in 27 games for the Rubro-Negro last year.
According to Rádio Grenal (via Gazeta Esportiva), Internacional will not look to keep the right-back in Porto Alegre once his deal runs out in December.
The loan deal includes an option to buy the right-back for €4m (R$ 18.2m).
Rodinei had played nine games for his loan club before the season was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
