It was another interesting weekend of international football with fixtures taking place all across the globe.
And now itâs awards time.
Spare a thought for Andorraâs Ildefons Lima, who must be extremely aware of his own mortality right now.
Playing professional football at the age of 41 is very impressive, but when youâve got young whippersnappers like Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka buzzing around you, it must be a nightmare.
The veteran defender came on as a substitute during the first half on Saturday night and then had to go off in the second when his hamstring gave way. But at least he saw the funny side âŠ
The man is, indeed, a legend.
Bet you didnât know Lionel Messi could smoulder, did you?
But it wasnât even the best selfie featuring the Argentine superstar taken this weekend.
By earning a second booking for time wasting in the first half of Northern Irelandâs defeat to Switzerland, Jamal Lewis was the victim of one of the strangest sending offs weâve seen for some time.
Thatâs one to tell the grandchildren about.
This one is pretty self-explanatory really. Just watch and let it melt your heart.
Arenât they lovely?
Some 36-year-olds canât step onto a football pitch without getting injured. Cristiano Ronaldo canât step onto one without breaking some kind of record these days.
Weâre not saying heâs the best player ever but when it comes to international football, heâs a pretty strong contender for the GOAT.
Although this guy isnât bad either âŠ
Possibly the best sound of the weekend was Hampden Park in full voice after Scott McTominayâs late winner for Scotland against Israel.
đș Goodnight. #SCOISR âÂ
Just crank up the volume and listen to that.
After publicly declaring his opposition to the Covid-19 vaccine last week, it was inevitable that Callum Robinson would score his first and second goals for the Republic of Ireland this weekend.
It prompted a slew of jokes on social media. Here are some of the best of them âŠ
I suppose it helps that the Azerbaijani defenders donât want to get within 2m of Callum Robinson. âÂ
The goal of the weekend was scored by Italyâs NicolĂČ Barella as he volleyed home in their Nations League third place play-off victory over Belgium.
A strike which was as cool as Roberto Manciniâs coat.
We can only assume Karim Benzema is so annoyed by how unbeatable the goalkeepers can be on FIFA 22 that he decided to take matters into his own hands and score a classic finesse goal in real life during Sundayâs Nations League final.
Everyone in the world watching the Nations League final was surely expecting Kylian MbappĂ©âs winning goal to be ruled out for offside.
But it turns out weâre all just idiots who still donât know the ins and outs of the offside rule.
Football is stupid sometimes.
We could hardly have been more delighted to see the tiny car from Euro 2020 make a glorious comeback as it delivered the match ball for the Nations League final.
If you ask us, every single match worldwide should begin with a tiny car driving onto the pitch. We will never, ever get tired of seeing it.
