The Premier League and Championship will not stage fixtures over the Easter weekend in 2026/27 after changes to the international calendar.
FIFA has confirmed the international schedule for next season and into 2027, with the March window running from 22 to 30 March, which falls across Easter.
Easter weekend is traditionally a busy EFL period, with matches on Good Friday and on the Bank Holiday Monday.
League One and League Two are still due to play that weekend, though games are often postponed because of international call-ups.
Separately, the September and October international breaks have been merged from the start of next season, creating a single two-week pause from 21 September to 6 October.
