Friday was another busy evening of action for our Ligue 1 international players, with a number of African sides featuring in friendlies as well as South American and European sides heating up preparations for the Copa America and Euros respectively.
Ndiaye, Sarr, Dieng and Mory Diaw feature in Senegal's victory over Gabon
A short trip for our Senegalese Ligue 1 players, as Senegal faced Gabon in Amiens on Friday evening. Olympique de Marseille's Iliman Ndiaye and Ismaïla Sarr started alongside Lorient attacker Bamba Deing as well as Clermont keeper Mory Diaw as the 2021 AFCON winners ran out as 3-0 winners over Gabon. The Teranga Lions were helped out with an own goal (12') before Barça's Mikayil Faye scored on his international debut (44'). Sadio Mané added an extra goal in injury time (90+2).
Amine Gouiri scores in Algeria win over Bolivia
Stade Rennais forward Amine Gouiri got himself on the scoresheet as Algeria ran out as 3-2 winners over Bolivia in a friendly clash. Goals from Yassine Benzia (29') and Aïssa Mandi (90+4') were enough to seal the win despite a late push from the visitors, who scored through Carmelo Algarañaz (47') and José Segredo (70').
Azzedine Ounahi and Achraf Hakimi feature in Morocco victory over Angola
Olympique de Marseille midfielder Azzedine Ounahi and Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi both started in Morocco's friendly against Angola on Friday evening. An own goal from David Carmo (72') was enough to see the Atlas Lions clinch the win on home turf in Agadir.
Lyon's Tagliacafico starts in Argentina win against El Salvador
Lionel Scaloni entrusted Olympique Lyonnais defender Nicolas Tagliafico with a starting spot in the centre of defence against El Salvador, as the World Champions defeated their visitors convincingly by a margin of three goals. Without Lionel Messi, the Argentines raced to a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Cristian Romero (16'), Enzo Fernández (42'), and Giovani Lo Celso (52').
