Interview with Alidou Tadjou, new Al Fateh FC player
At just 18 years old, Alidou Tadjou is leaving Benin for Saudi Arabia. The former ASPAC player has just signed a two-year deal with Al Fateh FC, a club competing in the Saudi Pro League. In this exclusive interview, the young talent shares his humility, ambition, and faith in his destiny.
Thank you. It's a dream come true... though it's far from over. I'm very proud. I thank the Almighty for this opportunity. It's the start of a new chapter in my career.
Only happiness. ASPAC gave me everything. I grew up there, surrounded by amazing coaches and teammates. My departure was peaceful, with their blessing. I owe them a lot.
Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. The welcome at Al Fateh has been outstanding. They've done everything to help me settle in: the staff, teammates, coaches... I already feel at home.
Yes, absolutely. I played my first 45 minutes with Al Fateh's reserve team, on an away trip to Al Raed. The feelings were great. It's a very collective group, and I believe I'll find my place quickly.
Last season, I scored eight goals and provided around ten assists in the league. But for me, that's just a step. My goal now is clear: break into Al Fateh's first team and make my mark there.
I'm a fast player who loves to take on defenders and create dangerous situations. I love providing assists — that's my main strength. On the pitch, I also enjoy contributing to attacking transitions. Off the pitch, I'm sociable, simple, and open-minded.
Finishing. I need to be more clinical in front of goal and more precise with my final passes. It's daily work, but I enjoy learning. I want to grow with every match.
It all started in Djougou when I was seven. There, everyone loves football. We played everywhere, all the time. That atmosphere made me want to keep going. And today, it's that same passion that pushes me to go further.
Of course. Every patriot's first ambition is to represent his country. Wearing the green-yellow-red is a dream. I'm working for that. The day the coach calls me up, I want to be ready to honor the Cheetahs' jersey.
