Celtic have been linked with numerous players in the last few weeks, and whether these reports are concrete or just mere speculation, the fact of the matter is that Michael Nicholson has been guilty of sleeping at the wheel once again, meaning we can only watch on as our two title rivals go about their business as they bolster their squads.
Each and every media outlet has Celtic ‘preparing’ or ‘enquiring’ about a player, leaving Celtic supporters more and more frustrated with each passing day of this transfer window, much like every other one to be fair.
What we want are deals to be finalised, and less dallying about. All we ask of our club is to identify our targets and take the proper action and make a bid and agree a fee with any selling club and terms with said target, and get them in the door as soon as possible, is that too much to ask?
It’s not that difficult is it? Spare us the ‘January is a hard time to do business’ spiel, other clubs have disproved that theory, so that excuse isn’t going to wash any longer. ‘January is a hard time for Celtic to do business and so is the summer.’
We have tens of millions of pounds in the bank. We are supposedly a professional football club, a so-called big side, it’s time we got our act together and started to act like one. How can the Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson aspire to be world class in everything we do then act like Frank Spence from Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em. Google it younger readers.
Players are available on the transfer market, whether that’s on loan or a more permanent basis. Clubs have set prices on their players and all we have to do is take the proper measures to get the deals over the line to aid Martin O’Neill in his bid to turn this season of despair into something resembling a successful one.
It’s really that straightforward, isn’t it? I mean other clubs have no difficulty in doing so. Time to get a move on Celtic, and start acting like a properly run football club. There are simply no excuses. The Transfer Window for Dummies book cover graphic sums the situation at Celtic up very well, kudos to whoever created that and thanks to @CelticGossip for bringing it to our attention.
