Simone Inzaghi insists Inter face Bologna ‘with the right level of enthusiasm and hunger,’ giving an important update on injuries including Marcus Thuram.

It kicks off at the Stadio Dall’Ara at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

The Nerazzurri are still buzzing from the midweek 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich, which allowed them to set up a Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.

They are also preparing to face Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final on Wednesday, having drawn the first leg 1-1.

Inzaghi makes relatively few Inter changes

“We go into this game with the right level of enthusiasm and hunger. Bologna are in great shape, well-drilled, lost here only to Verona when down to 10 men, so we need focus and a strong performance,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

There are surprisingly few changes to the starting XI that played in the Champions League on Wednesday, losing Marcus Thuram to an injury.

“I made my choices as always, trying to understand the requirements of a difficult game. I made a few adjustments, but we are recovering players who were out and waiting for Dumfries and Zielinski to return. We had this little issue for Thuram, but I don’t think he will be out for long,” explained Inzaghi.

“Zielinski and Dumfries had some serious injuries that dragged on, but they are in the recovery process and should return to training with the team next week. Thuram had a muscular problem, I think it’s too early to see him today and midweek, but for next weekend he should be back.”

That means Thuram will not be participating in the Coppa Italia semi-final against Milan on Wednesday evening at San Siro.
