Ioannidis shows his worth! Sporting forward scores, sets one up (video) | OneFootball

Fotis Ioannidis made an excellent impression before returning to Sporting. The striker returned to the starting lineup for Greece and proved decisive in the 2-2 draw against the Netherlands, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

He needed just 23 minutes to make his mark on the match played in Thessaloniki.

Ioannidis opened the scoring with a finish of great quality after an assist from Masouras. Deep into first-half stoppage time, the roles were reversed: the Sporting player took advantage of a mistake by the Dutch defense and set up his teammate for 2-0.

The second half brought a strong response from the Netherlands. Virgil van Dijk pulled one back in the 59th minute following a corner, and Reijnders eventually leveled the score near the end, denying Greece a third consecutive victory in this group stage.

Even so, the team coached by Ivan Jovanovic remains alone at the top of the group after already beating Serbia and Germany. Ioannidis also made the most of his opportunity in the starting eleven to further strengthen his status after two appearances off the bench.
