Bologna are still in the race for Greece international striker Fotis Ioannidis, as Panathinaikos turned down the latest offer from Sporting CP, but are also targeting Thijs Dallinga.
The Rossoblu sold Joshua Zirkzee to Manchester United and need a replacement, especially after qualifying for the Champions League and therefore expanding their fixture list considerably this season.
They have set their sights on tall 24-year-old Ioannidis, who has also been linked with Ipswich Town.
It seems to be a battle with Sporting, as Portuguese newspaper Record suggest that Panathinaikos rejected the first offer of €20m plus €3m in bonuses.
The asking price is believed to be circa €30m, an unlikely cost for Bologna this summer.
He scored 23 goals and provided nine assists in 44 competitive matches last season, making a particular impact in the Europa League with five goals in six matches.
The striker has two goals in 11 senior caps for Greece.
There are also more options, including Toulouse FC forward Dallinga, who had previously been mentioned as a candidate for Milan.
