Ipswich Town loanee Maddy Earl has returned to parent club Arsenal ahead of schedule.

The 19-year-old England youth international was expected to spend the whole season with Ipswich Town but she returns to parent club Arsenal with a third of the campaign remaining.

Earl played an important role in Ipswich Town establishing themselves in Barclays WSL2 in the first half of the season. She made seven appearances for the Suffolk side in all competitions.

The youngster joined the Arsenal academy at the age of eight and she successfully worked her way through the various age groups to the fringes of the senior squad. Earl toured Australia with The Gunners at the end of the 2023/2024 season and she signed her first professional terms with the club in January 2025.

Earl has developed away from Arsenal in recent times. The player spent the first half of last season on loan at Bristol City before moving to Sheffield United for the second half of the campaign. With minutes far from guaranteed at Arsenal this term, the club opted to loan Earl to Ipswich Town to get regular football.

The next steps for Earl’s development are not yet known.
