Arijanet Muric joined Sassuolo on loan from Ipswich Town last summer
Ipswich Town are seeking promotion back to the Premier League at the first opportunity this year.
The Tractor Boys finished 19th in the top flight table last season, ending their time in the division after just one campaign.
Kieran McKenna had guided the club to back-to-back promotions, but was unable to establish the team in the Premier League long-term.
But a strong end to this season could earn the team their place back in the division, albeit they face competition from the likes of Coventry City, Millwall and Middlesbrough.
The Suffolk outfit may yet have to settle for a play-off place, despite earning automatic promotion in 2024.

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has hinted that the club are keen on completing a deal to sign Arijanet Muric on a permanent basis from Ipswich this summer.
The goalkeeper joined the Italian side on loan with an option to buy last year, and he has proven himself as a key part of the team as they fight for qualification for European competition for next season.
The chief executive has claimed that the goalkeeper is a great asset to the team, and that they will make an assessment over whether to pull the trigger on the option to buy clause, suggesting they want to keep him around.
"He's a player we've signed on loan with an option to buy, and he's doing very well, which isn't really a surprise," said Carnevali, via Tutto Mercato Web.
"We have the right to buy him from Ipswich and we will make our assessment.
"He is proving to be a great asset and, under the right conditions, he is a player who has given us a lot.
"I think he is one of the most promising players and has shown his best qualities in this league."
Muric signed for Ipswich in the 2024 summer transfer window following their promotion to the Premier League.
He arrived from Burnley, and he made 18 appearances in the top flight before losing his position as McKenna’s first choice goalkeeper.
This led to his departure to Sassuolo, where he has conceded 34 goals from 26 appearances in Serie A, with his loan club sitting a respectable ninth in the current Italian top-flight standings.

Muric fell out of favour after his disappointing performances in the Premier League, so it came as no surprise when they sanctioned his exit in the summer.
While Ipswich’s goalkeeper situation has been far from resolved this season, they have not missed the Kosovo international.
If Sassuolo confirm his signing on a permanent basis, that has the basis of a deal that will work well for all parties, given he has performed well in Serie A this year.
The Suffolk outfit will recoup a fee for his exit, which they can use to reinvest in their goalkeeping options for next season, as that could be a priority area in the upcoming summer market.
