Ipswich Town fan warns against a move for Emmanuel Latte Lath, citing his goal drought and better striker options as transfer links resurface.

Just four months after leaving Middlesbrough for MLS side Atlanta United, Emmanuel Latte Lath is once again being linked with Ipswich Town, a club who have held a long-standing interest in the striker.
But with the Ivorian now enduring a 10-game goal drought in America, and with better options available, FLW's Ipswich Fan Pundit Adam Wilkin believes that the Tractor Boys should think twice before reigniting the chase.
According to The Northern Echo, Latte Lath is one of Ipswich's potential replacements for Chelsea-bound Liam Delap.
His move to Atlanta United in February ended a lengthy transfer saga with Ipswich that stretched back to the summer of 2024, when Middlesbrough repeatedly rebuffed interest.
The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and registered three assists in the Championship in the 2024/25 campaign before his £22.5 million switch to MLS. Since joining the Five Stripes, however, he has netted just five times in 16 appearances and has failed to score in over two months.
For Adam, that's a red flag: "Obviously we were interested in January, and then I was a bit surprised by that," he told FLW. "I didn't think he was a Premier League striker. It was just that the market for strikers was tough."
With Ipswich reportedly set to receive £30 million from Chelsea for Liam Delap, along with parachute payments and the potential for other sales, the club will have funds to work with. Adam believes that this should open the door to better options.
"I think now with it coming back round to it, given his form, lack of goals, and the market being much better - we've been linked with players like Marc Guiu and Divin Mubama - I think there are better options out there," he explained.
Latte Lath's potential return to the Championship would no doubt cause frustration on Teeside. Middlesbrough allowed him to leave mid-season, fading out of the play-off picture after his departure. They're still trying to replace him, and may feel further regret if he strengthens a rival in Ipswich.
To add to that frustration, Boro reportedly didn't secure a sell-on clause as part of the deal with Atlanta United, while the Teesiders were required to give 10% of the money brought in from his sale to Serie A side Atalanta.
While the club carries a long-standing interest in the forward, Adam urges Ipswich to be more ambitious this time around as they prepare for life back in the second tier.
"There are just better players out there right now," he concluded. "Guiu and Mubama may be younger, but Delap showed that age isn't a barrier. I just don't think Latte Lath is the answer for where we're heading.
