Is Franck Haise losing the dressing room at OGC Nice?

Franck Haise has not held back in the criticism of his squad in recent weeks. OGC Nice are on a four-game losing streak in all competitions, are pointless from four games in the UEFA Europa League, and sit ninth in Ligue 1

After a defeat to SC Freiburg just before the international break, Haise lambasted the attitude and mentality of his players. “Since I arrived here, I have spoken about expectations, about daily work… we can’t fall over whenever there is a duel! It’s the same in training! Stop falling over! Yes, there are errors, there are always errors, but what are we doing about them? Are we bouncing back from them or what? We shot ourselves in the foot,” said Haise in a press conference attended by Get French Football News following the loss to Freiburg.

After Friday night’s 5-1 “spanking”, in the words of Sofiane Diop, by local rivals Olympique de Marseille on Friday, Haise said that the overall level of his side was “insufficient”, whilst he has also called into question the squad building.

L’Équipe now understands that Haise’s recent comments are the source of tension, perhaps unsurprisingly, at the club. The relationship between the Nice manager and his dressing room has changed, whilst his tactical choices, including pressing Marseille high last week, are being questioned by the players. A source close to one Nice player even went so far as to say that Haise has “lost half of the dressing room with his communication”.
