Liverpool take on Galatasaray in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie tonight, with Arne Slot’s side travelling to Istanbul hoping to put one foot in the competition’s quarter-finals.

The Reds suffered a 1-0 defeat at Rams Park earlier this season in the middle of their poor run of form, though they have since steadied the ship despite a few negative results of late.

Slot’s men are still fighting to finish in the top five in the Premier League and moved into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a win over Wolves last week, though it is in Europe where they can land the biggest prize.

And while their dream of retaining the league title has gone for 2025/26, the chance to win a seventh European Cup means there’s plenty to play for as they travel to Istanbul to take on the Turkish league leaders.

When is Galatasaray vs Liverpool?

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 5.45pm GMT on Tuesday, 10 March at Rams Park in Istanbul, Turkey.

How can I watch it?

Viewers in the UK can watch the match live on TNT Sports 1, with coverage starting at 5pm. Subscribers can also stream the action live online or on the discovery+ app.

Team news

For Liverpool, there are no new injury concerns after the win over Wolves, though Alisson will be sidelined after suffering discomfort following the club’s open training session on Monday. In addition, Federico Chiesa was not present in training and will not be in the squad.

Alexander Isak is still a few weeks away from making a return, while Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Wataru Endo remain sidelined for the foreseeable future.

For Galatasaray, young reserve goalkeeper Enes Buyuk is the only absentee, while Leroy Sane is available to feature despite being red carded at the weekend. Star man Victor Osimhen will likely lead the attack, supported by Baris Alper Yilmaz.
